a. Second Officer
The company is looking for experienced pilots to be further trained in Adelaide Australia as the second officer.

b. Cabin Crew
Opening for Korean Crews to be based in Hong Kong. The interview in the mid Apr 2012.
Jut in case, you are new, airlines do provide a team of crew who are proficient in the local language, for example, for flight to Arabic states, about 2 of the crews can speak Arabic.
c. Simulator Instructor – He must have ATPL. Normally airlines will go for grounded pilots, there are young pilot who cannot get through the stringent medical examination.

The Hong Kong based airline is ordering 25 new widebody aircrafts. They are 15 Airbus A330 and 10 B777. The 25 aircrafts will be delivered by 2015. Currently the airline has 91 aircraft in the order book and to be delivered by 2019.
What does all these meant to the job market. Any expansion in the fleet will have a direct increase in the number of flying staff. The pilots and the the cabin crews have to be increased. This is a direct relationship between the number of aircraft and the crews. This is because the working hours for crews are controlled by the regulation. Other positions in the airline can be adjusted and outsourced.
Cathay was making HK13.4bil profit last year. This is including the HK2.5bil contribution from its stake in Beijing-based airline, Air China. This airline experienced a steady increase of air traffic. The passengers increase to 26.8 million laast year, representing a jump of 9.1%.
The main concern now is the unpredictable increase of the oil price. Last year, the total cost of fuel for the company increase by 40%. Currently the fuel cost is about 36% of the total cost.
